The Taj of Joy
How do you describe something that is beyond words?
When I saw the Taj Mahal yesterday, that is what I thought and that is what I am thinking right now as I try to describe how I found this number one wonder of the world. It is truly a wonder, of course. The brightness of its whiteness, the perfection of its construction from every possible angle, the detailing of its artwork in marbled stone, its towering presence and sheerly stupendous beauty that has to be seen to be believed. They call it the temple of love, the symbol of love, the ultimate gift ever given by a man to his beloved and they call it paradise built in stone on earth. Shah Jahan is said to have designed the place basis the description of the paradise as given in the Holy Quran. And he did it all for his favorite lady- Mumtaz Mahal. Just tells you how love can inspire someone to create a work of perfection.
It is one of those structures that is on almost everybody who is anybody's 'places to see before you die' list. So naturally, people from every part of the world and perhaps some from even outside of this world seemed to be there. And they all looked HAPPY. Perhaps, this is one of the magical things about this place,. It makes you happier than you are when you see it. Maybe the love put into making this thing does it. Or maybe the whole frequency at which this place operates is such that there is love all around. And there is inevitably joy where there is love. I was happy to see people happy. One of the most delightful things there is to see people getting themselves shot before this magic in marble. It acts as a glue. Brings people together. Makes them all smile and laugh. Makes them take weird poses like a skewed finger to create the 'make-believe lifting the Taj pic'. Or simply sitting on the benches before it and saying the biggest 'cheese' of their lives. And the variety of people that do it is equally interesting. All dressed colorfully. Some in their traditional attires, others in the most fashionable mix, while some still in their cool casuals. But I think that no matter how they look, the Taj makes them look a little better than they would look otherwise just by being in their background.
Truly Awesome!
